Founded in 1915, FBC Melgar is one of the most emblematic clubs in Peru and a true symbol of Arequipa. Nicknamed ‘El Dominó’ (The Dominoes), it has forged a history full of successes, standing out with two national Liga1 titles, first in 1981 and then in 2015. In addition to its local glory, it has shone in international competitions such as the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana , taking the name of Peru beyond its borders. With a loyal and passionate fan base, FBC Melgar is not only a benchmark in Peruvian football, but also an example of perseverance and ambition.

Red and Black Legends

Throughout its history, FBC Melgar has had great idols such as Eduardo Márquez, captain and key defensive pillar in the 1981 title; Genaro Neyra, leader in midfield and strategist of many successful campaigns; and Bernardo Cuesta, all-time top scorer, synonymous with goals and leadership.

Aiming for the Libertadores

FBC Melgar has proven to be a worthy representative of Peru in the most important tournaments in South America, such as the Copa Libertadores: The club has participated in 8 editions of the tournament.
